From Business Requirements Document(BRD) to Software Requirement Analysis (SRA) Document

Hi,

I am currently in the stage of the project where the business subject matter expert has created a BRD(Business Requirement Document) which contains the details of Business requirements (marketing , Operational, legal, Business Capability) etc. Its now my job to get down an SRA from it.

As posted previously I being from a technical background is having quite a tough time getting a vision as to my next steps.

What I have done so far is to group the requirements in BRD into broad areas and now trying to pick up each broad area and analysing them in detail.

Do you think the approach seems reasonable. I would want more inputs to how can I do the work in better manner. This is my first BA project so need inputs.
