Please check my answer and guide me

Hello all!!!

First..Thank you for your great advice for my last post on interview question.

As in recent interview experience They asked me questions 1) They asked me write fuctional spec on a paper for technical team by giving an example that I go to log on screen and the user enter username.name for username and password with 1 charecter 3 nos so what I did is I intiallly explanied to him each company follow its own standards of documentation like templates where I write abt project scope, objective etc

And I  knew that the funct spec is for tech team so I  prefered to draw an use case model on paper with one actor and 2 usecases( 1) user clicks on logon 2) Enters username and password) and explained to him that I will write details abt usecase descip, actor , pre-cond, post-cond....etc  and next I explanied to him that I prefer to draw activity diagram to give tecnical team a clear idea so i started with start, activity1- userclicks on logon, activity2- user enters username and password, activity 3 - clicks on logon button, and then i draw a diamond and left correct password with another activity userlogson and finish on other hand wrong password with activity wrogusername or password, an then directed my arrow ito activity2.

The interviewer wasnt expecting me to write in detail he said to explain how detail can you do to explain requirements, So I  explained to him that I write scope of work, scope of product and then explain functional requirements and data requirements  and In Fuctional requ I includ these diagrams to explain clearly to Tech team .

Now I am not sure my answer is wrong or it supports the answer so please guide me how to give and present the answer in an apprpriate way in such situations.

Thank you,

Regards,

Srikanth

Re: Please check my answer and guide me

Hi srikanth,

The detailed requirement can be like this?

Regards, Sundar

Scenario 1: The User opens the login screen that contain the Username and Password

Scenario 2: User types the User name (Condition:  Name of the User)
Scenario 3: User type the Password (Condition: One Character and 3 Numeric values)
Scenario 4: User clicks the Login button
4a. If the User name and password is correct with the login conditions the Login is successful

4b. If the Username and password is incorrect (i.e. it does not fit the login conditions) the Login is unsuccessful
