Minimum Requirements to be a BA

I am a management accountant with chartered marketer and have up skill with online courses on data science. My new boss wants me to take on the roll of Finance Business Analyst and I was wondering what would be the minimum skill sets necessary or should one proceed by joining IIBA or would it just be too costly?
