Hi Everyone,
I'm a new BA. My background has always been more in the areas of GIS and Data Analysis. Got a bit bored of the whole GIS stuff and recently started getting more into data analytics - power bi, alteryx, tableau etc. More recently it occurred to me that a BA role would potentially compliment my data analytics background.
I applied for a BA job recently and was turned down for the role initially. I think I did enough to impress them because they've now offered me the BA role with training. This is the course that they’ve mentioned: Business analyst / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. - https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/business-analyst-v1-1
Don’t really know much about this course or how good it is? Was a bit sceptical initially as this looks like an apprenticeship course. At the end of the day I get the job and the paid for training is a bonus I guess. I’m keen on upskilling myself quickly in the BA area with qualifications as well as experience.
Thought I would join this forum to gain knowledge from seasoned professionals and hopefully contribute on here once I’m up and running.
I know this is just an introduction post but if anyone has any advice, suggestions for courses or anything else I can get into straight away, I’d really appreciate the advice. I did Prince2 years ago and I’ve seen agile, sigma six, scrum master words banded around on a lot on the BA job roles.
I really don’t know much about them but I figure I could potentially get stuck into one of those things straight away.
Looking forward to being on this forum. Less time spending my money on stuff I don’t need on hotdeals and more time reading and learning from this forum 😉
