What's your take on this development? Good or bad for the industry? For the IIBA?
David Barrett, one of the founders of the IIBA, has a good article on the topic:

Hi Jarrett
To me its all about industry acceptance. Starting to see requests for CBAP etc in Australia recently but its not mainstream yet. PMP / PMI is very mainstream, so depending on how they handle it, I think that the PMI BA certification might win in the end. It will take a few years. Not sure I care given my age and lack of interest in certification however for people joining the profession or looking to make a career, it puts them in a significant dilemna. Maybe the best thing to do is to wait a year or so to see how it all shakes out.

I feel like it's a half-hearted entry into the Business Analysis certification arena. They've listed 10 different sources with which you need to be familiar to sit for the exam, and the IIBA BABOK is not one of them. It's a slap in the face to the IIBA. I'll stick with my CBAP.
