Masters in MIS or Business analysis courses?

I currently do data analysis/light programming/user requirements/process improvement so I consider myself somewhat a business analyst already, but in order to become familiar with the core processes (use cases, etc), I am wondering if it would be better to just take business analysis specific courses or finish a Masters in MIS?  I currently have an MBA and only need 6 more classes that would encompass Systems Analysis and Design, Database Design, User Experience, programming courses.  Which would be a good option?  Thanks.

I think go for the Masters in MIS. More academic recognition. If you move into other areas in your career it will come in handy. Plus it gives you credibility in IT that an MBA doesn't.

If you want to learn to be a BA take some training in your job.

 Data73,

If it only requires 6 more courses for a Masters in IT, Id say go for it. But, you have an MBA and you should use it to your advantage; I use mine (MBA, 1988) very effectively. Many of the things you mention could be achieved through onthe-job-training and the odd 2-3 day course. All the best!

warm regards,

K
