BA Mentors

Hi All,

I'm sitting here wondering how to both shape and accelerate my career as a business analyst in the right direction and figure that maybe having a mentor might assist with this endeavour.

What qualities should one look for when seeking a mentor?

Regards,

Tshego

Re: BA Mentors

Tshego,

My company offers online mentoring using a structured programme and your work as the 'case study' for programme: you get to develop your skills and progress your work at the same time! What could be better? (Well, ok, a mentor that is with you in your place of work, but we're the next best thing!).

Re: BA Mentors

Hi:

Want to rocket to the top of the heap?  Focus on the essential like a laser:  Learn what the essential differences are between a use case and a data flow diagram are.

Forget mentors:  Only 2% of people are problem solvers, the rest are just along for the ride.

Tony
