Re: Difference between Non Functional and Process Requirements

Good question.

What does it mean? Let’s say the hotel manager says “Kashi, I want a new Reservation System (Functionality). I want the interface to be simple – at least 2-3 key strokes to make a reservation at front desk(Human factor); I want it to run 24 x 7 (Reliability); I want our front desk staff to have 1-2 second response times on the core reservation screens (performance). We have plans to acquire new hotels in Mexico and Brazil in the next 9-months and plan to use the same system (Extensibility and Localizability etc.). These URPS in FURPS are the constraints we place on the system.

warm regards,
K
