Major enhancements to existing application

Our business want's to add more financial services to our existing application, as a Junior BA where should my analysis begin from?  Any help is greatly appreciated. Just a beginning would help a lot.

umm. Find out about the new financial services? Your existing system may support them if its functionality and workflow is flexible enough and no new data is required.
