Context Diagram: Bank ATM Example
Modified By Jay on 5/13/2008 9:31:05 AM)

Hello Adrian

I have gone ahead and created a Context diagram which shows the goals and scope of the project. I have not gone into the details and functionalities which I thought I will do with a use case model or a level 1 diagram. I am going ahead and uploading the Context diagram file.

For our team members, let me brief you about this project. Bank ATM Example. The requirements of this project have already been gathered and noted. I am pursuing it further by creating high level design with a context diagram and then going into the functionalites  with a use case model. The link to the existing Project is  Requirements Role-play: Bank ATM Example thread.

Adrain, have a look at it and tell me where I am going right or wrong .

Thanks:- Jay

Re: Context Diagram: Bank ATM Example

Hi Adrian/Jay

I wanted to be a part of this example project. I went through the ATM example and created a context diagram. I know Jay has already created a context diagram but i thought that diagram missed few points. I may not be right but i am just learning still. So please go through my document also and let me know your suggestions where i went wrong and what changes should i make to improve the diagram. I just read a brief overview of what context diagram is. I dont know a lot about context diagram so if you can please provide me links where i can go through and work on the next diagram. Do you want me to work on creating Use Case model or do I have to draw Level 1 Diagram ?

Thank you everyone for this wonderful Forum which helps novice people like me

Re: Context Diagram: Bank ATM Example

Hello Adrain/Sonavi

Thanks for the feedback. I saw the context diagram and it looks great. I am not sure to what extent do we go with the context diagram.  Identifying the main scope and goal or going into each functionality eg depositing cash, depositing cheques or just deposits and then elaborating later. Sonavi, I am glad we are two of us and this way we will have different view points and get the right direction from Adrian. I too am a beginner and this will be a great learning experience for all new BA's.

Thanks:- Jay
