Established four years ago, International Project Management Day™ serves as an opportunity to increase the awareness of the value of project management and to recognize the contributions project managers make to their organizations. This day of celebration occurs each year on the first Thursday in November. International Project Management Day will occur this year on November 6, 2008.

Frank Saladis, Founder of International Project Management Day and Senior Consultant at IIL, has been instrumental in encouraging project based organizations worldwide and companies that utilize project management methodologies to conduct recognition events in support of project managers and their achievements.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of the City of New York issued a proclamation for this day in November of 2005, and each year since, there is a proclamation issued in recognition of this day.

Mayor Bill White of the City of Houston issued a proclamation of this day in November of 2007.

Along with other organizations around the world who will be conducting events, luncheons, special meetings, etc. to celebrate this day, International Institute for Learning, Inc. will once again recognize this day by hosting a live global webcast, Leading Projects in a Changing World, on both November 5th 8:00pm – 11:30pm EST and November 6th 11:00am – 2:30pm EST, enabling viewing access to each global time zone’s business day.

International Institute for Learning, Inc. also conducts a separate event, Kerzner International Project Manager of the Year™ Award, and the winner for this award and four runner ups are honored at an awards banquet, which occurs on International Project Management Day.
