City Targets Organizational Efficiency in Its Digital Transformation
San Diego, CA – March 1, 2018 –– BP Logix, provider of low-code/no-code BPM solutions for rapid digital application development, is pleased to announce that the City of Fort Worth is deploying Process Director as a critical part of the city’s Operational Efficiency Initiative. Seeking to “grow smart” as it addresses the demands of a digitally savvy population, Fort Worth is accelerating response times and reducing waste as it implements a broad vision of digital, on-demand services. Departments ranging from HR, Finance, and Law Enforcement to Fire, Water, and Parks and Recreation are partnering with IT in Phase I of the implementation.
Fort Worth is the 16th largest city in the United States and the fifth largest city in the state of Texas. The city was established in 1849 as an Army outpost on a bluff overlooking the Trinity River. Fort Worth’s culture and economy are stimulated by several university communities, including Texas Christian University, Texas Wesleyan, University of North Texas Health Science Center, and Texas A&M University School of Law. It is also home to multinational corporations including American Airlines, Bell Helicopter, BNSF Railway, Lockheed Martin, Pier 1 Imports, and XTO Energy.
Kevin Gunn is the Chief Technology Officer and IT Solutions Director for the City of Fort Worth. He and Shaun Campbell, IT Project Consultant, are articulating a vision for the City’s digital transformation that includes automating 13 major processes (including nearly 400 highly-utilized forms). “We have an operational excellence focus within IT Solutions,” stated Gunn. “We are not simply taking paper forms and converting them to digital formats. We are evaluating our business processes to reduce errors, improve cycle times, reduce wait time and facilitate adoption.”
Campbell has implemented software solutions for 30 years and values the process control functionality of Process Director. He led the team rolling out Process Director and has already noted a reduction in overhead. Campbell appreciates that the entire process is significantly faster. “I enjoy using the Process Timeline™ and use it heavily. For applications with complex timelines, lots of notifications, reminders, routing and approvals, there is nothing better,” Campbell added.
“Increasing efficiency, reducing human errors and supporting continuous process improvement are important to organizations everywhere,” remarked Jay O’Brien, CEO of BP Logix. “It is forward-looking cities like Fort Worth that are creating models for the digital transformation of cities and municipalities.”
