TORONTO--(Marketwire - April 8, 2008) - Blueprintâ„¢, the global leader in Requirements Solutions for software Business Analysts, has been named a "Cool Vendor" in the April 2008 report "Cool Vendors in Application Development [AD], 2008" by analysts Jim Duggan and Matt Light of leading industry research firm Gartner. Blueprint was analyzed and included by Gartner in the business analyst space.

Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 is the industry's first requirements solution for software Business Analysts built for global enterprise wide deployment. As part of this landmark release, Blueprint added the Blueprint Definition Server, which enables teams of users to seamlessly share assets, enable asset protection through version control and configuration management, and merge changes through a defined change-control process.

The report notes that, "Development projects and processes deal with large quantities of information, but they are often poorly specified, measured and controlled. These failures of insight and control are at the root of many development project horror stories." It goes on to note that the vendors in this report "have 'cool' approaches to the specification and the quality delivery of complex projects."

"We're delighted to have been named a 'Cool Vendor' by Gartner," said Blueprint's CEO David Nyland. "We believe it is a testament to the hard work and innovation of our employees, the commitment and involvement of our customers and ecosystem partners, our deep alliances with ALM partners such as HP Software, and our strong alignment with the IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysts), that we are able to deliver a product that uniquely fits the needs of software Business Analysts."

"Recent industry studies indicate that up to 80% of project failures and delays stem from poor requirements," said Matthew Morgan, CMO for Blueprint. "Blueprint Requirements Center 2008 enables organizations to capture dramatic cost savings and ensure business/IT alignment by providing a solution for the software Business Analyst task of defining clear, concise, and validated requirements. We are honored and thrilled to be included, which we believe is recognition, by Gartner as a 2008 Gartner Cool Vendor."
