MINNEAPOLIS – March 2 – Minneapolis-based Watermark Learning, a globally recognized professional training provider, marks the 20th anniversary of its founding this March. The firm, started by Richard Larson in 1992, has grown from a one-person operation offering a handful of IT training courses to an international institution, offering college-accredited training in business analysis, project management, and business process management. “The training field back in the 1990s was significantly different from today’s training world. The pace of work today and the demands back on the job tend to dictate that classes and exercises be shorter today than they were in the 1990s. Back then classes were typically 5 days long, and today most of our clients need shorter classes of 2 or at most 3 days,” Larson commented. “Now it’s typical to spend just a half hour in a workshop,” Larson added. “Technology today also permits us to do virtual training over the internet and work with people from all over the world attending our classes at the same time. That is very exciting.” In addition to public open enrollment classes in Minneapolis, Watermark also conducts classes in Chicago, Phoenix and Toronto. Instructor-led classes are also available online through Watermark’s regularly scheduled live virtual training program. Watermark Learning also partners with Auburn University to grant students Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Watermark classes. It offers college credit through Concordia University St. Paul for Watermark open enrollment courses offered in North America. Watermark Learning is also a PMI® (Project Management Institute) Global Registered Education Provider, and a charter IIBA® (International Institute of Business Analysis) Endorsed Education Provider as well as a Premier Sponsor of IIBA®. The firm’s global reach recently expanded with its business analysis courses being offered in Mexico through Servicios Educacionales en Analisis de Negocios (SEAN). Its business analysis and project management courses also are offered in South Africa through the Faculty Training Institute (FTI). Other international partners are being pursued continuously. Watermark Learning’s ongoing growth is reflected in its recent move to new and larger quarters outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not only does the new site provide increased space for the company’s training directors and education consultants, but it also includes a much-improved classroom environment with the latest layout and technology to provide an optimal learning venue. Since its founding, Watermark Learning has fostered results through a unique blend of industry best practices, a practical approach to learning, and an engaging style of subject matter delivery. Students acquire retainable real-world skills that motivate and enhance their job performance, with practical and lasting results.
