Using RUP, there should be a definite go/ no go answer when you are at last iteration of your Elaboration Phase. It is paramount to have all the architecturally significant risks mitigated and Proof of concepts validated for all external systems interaction before completion the Elaboration Phase. Hence, RUP should lay down a strong emphasis on conditions to be satisfied for completion of Elaboration phase.

Effective Deployment of 6 Best Practices
The Rational Unified Process describes how to effectively deploy commercially proven approaches to software development for software development teams. These are called “best practices” not so much because you can precisely quantify their value, but rather, because they are observed to be commonly used in industry by successful organizations.

The Rational Unified Process provides each team member with the guidelines, templates and tool mentors necessary for the entire team to take full advantage of among others the following best practices:

1. Develop software iteratively
2. Manage requirements
3. Use component-based architectures
4. Visually model software
5. Verify software quality
6. Control changes to software

I would like to see more explanation of how one transitions between disciplines.

For example:
What are the steps for deriving a system model from a business model?
What are the steps for performing analysis of a system model?

Do your homework prior to the business analysis interview!

Having an idea of the type of questions you might be asked during a business analyst interview will not only give you confidence but it will also help you to formulate your thoughts and to be better prepared to answer the interview questions you might get during the interview for a business analyst position.  Of course, just memorizing a list of business analyst interview questions will not make you a great business analyst but it might just help you get that next job.
