Business case v/s Proof of Concept

 Hi to All,

I m looking to identify the difference between business case & proof of concept.... and what are the use of both of these in real time.

I have to work on ABC project but prior to commence it I need to show the advantages & disadvantages of implementing it... so Can I it as Business case???

Looking forward for the responses.

Re: Business case v/s Proof of Concept

Imran,
The business case justifies the project; is it do-able and does it have positive returns? eg. Non-profit org might want more people to be aware of something; profit org might want positive net present values (NPV) or Return-on-investment (ROI) over the period of the project.

The proof of concept (or prototype) is a design and test issue. It may be a dependency in the business case. ie We’ll do it if we can prove that what we suggest will work and work effectively.

warm regards,
K
