I recently discovered an article by Sally Slack, an experienced practitioner & business / tech author who recognizes 6 best practices to make Business Process Management 'a heck of a lot easier':

1. Use a phased methodology.
2. Develop a process documentation guide.
3. Create a decision matrix.
4. Simulate, model, and test.
5. Communicate effectively.
6. Monitor the processes.

I thought there was some good fundamental practical sense here and that it could be useful to extend these best practices into an executable BPM model.

So I started to create a model on the article (bottom link).

I'd be interested to know, in your experience, are there other best practices you think should be added to this list? Can you suggest further How's to help make this an executable model that people can use day to day?
