Data Analyst 

 I have been looking for a job as an Data Anaylat. I use to work on Wall Street. Can I use this skill in a different industry?

Hey Yardman,

Yes, a lot of number-crunching skills can be used in different industries/domains, including business analysis.

Expert-level Excel skills transfer very well for many corporate processes.  If you have SQL experience pulling data from existing data stores, this would go a long way toward an IT analysis role. 

From my perspective in IT systems, a data-centric background would help in data-intensive systems design/development: data warehouses, business intelligence/reporting, etc.

Also, some industries/functions that normally deal with a lot of data might be a good fit.  HR (and HR information systems) are very data-driven... I've swapped very sexy Excel models and workbooks with a person who was working to support benefits processes.
