If I understand correctly, you are describing sales calls. They lead to gaining new clients for the business by first making these people leads then giving them quotes, and so on following the sales cycle.
The BA may assist the sales staff by explaining to their team the latest product features planned for inclusion in the next release, but the sale calls are not part of the BA job description.
As a BA you might contact clients that have purchased your company’s product, via surveys, focus groups, etc. Such a contact would be synchronized with your Customer Service, Marketing, etc. customer interacting departments in conjunction with the upgrade of the current product or development of a new one. In both cases you would have to explain to the clients the reason for the survey, focus group and have their approval for participation.
