Data Quality Specialist interview and presentation task

I have an interview next week for a NHS Data Quality Specialist. The role supports a wide range of internal and external stakeholders by providing expertise in data analytics and data governance. I'm a recent Information Management Masters student and work history has NHS experience but the role and interview does feel a bit overwhelming. Can anyone suggest the best way to approach prepping for the interview? Also I have to give a 10 minute presentation on “How can tools and analytical techniques help investigate and profile data to improve quality?” and some help with this would be really helpful. Company background ABC offers the world's leading range of certificates for learners and teachers of English - taken by over 3 million people in 130 countries. ABC is part of the ABC Assessment Group, Europe’s largest assessment agency. ABC Assessment operates an internal IT division (‘IS’) as part of its corporate services function, who provide IT-related products and services. IS is responsible for sourcing and managing developments, which are either undertaken internally or through outsource partners. Scenario For some time, ABC has been considering its strategies for strengthening links with its Centres, who retail and host its examinations internationally, to make life easier for them and to reduce internal exam processing time and cost. The organisation is ambitious and wants to act quickly. All the Directors are agreed that they need to develop a robust set of Centre-focussed web applications, and wish to undertake projects in the following areas. 1. Electronic submission of examination entries by centres and electronic transmission of candidate results to centres; 2. Online delivery of examinations; 3. Electronic submission of speaking test marks (which are assessed at the Centre). The Chief Executive has asked for assistance from the Programme Office to manage the delivery of the projects. Work history not BA but want be working as one.

Hi All, I have 13 years of banking experience out of which 4 years i worked as an Application Support person for Digital Banking and then 6 years as a Product Manager for Digital Banking. During the said 6 years I have handled multiple roles in projects in as BA, PM and SME. My love is to work as a BA. I moved to Australia and changed my job title from manager to a BA in my CV as I found recruiters were getting confused with my relevance. I finally got my first role as a BA into Infrastructure space and managed to complete a period of 10 months as a contractor. Now with COVID-19 playing havoc in the job market, i am struggling to nail my next role. But my love for BA is still there. I am also looking at learning the BABOK and getting certified as CBAP. My question is, should I continue with my passion?

Best Certification Path for Scrum

Hello all, I am relatively new in the BA field (after my information systems master degree). Now I look around for a certifications path for Scrum. I already purchased a pretty good book on Scrum which I plan to work through. Can someone recommend a certification path which is accepted globally so that if I want to work abroad the stuff also makes sense. I have seen the stuff on scrum.org, but I am not sure if I should go for this? Greetings from Switzerland

Business Analysis often confused with Business Analytics!

Hello, I believe this is a contemporary confusion in the work place these days. I often see advertisements for a Business Analysis Role that confuses this title with Business Analytics, Data Analyst or Statistician. The Business Analyst role to me is exclusive about data, it is not about being an SQL Developer or Statistician. It does incorporate some insight analysis but the core tasks include process mapping, requirements gathering and documentation, impact and option assessment plus contributions to the Business Case and Project Initiation Documents. What many recruiters seem to confuse these days is the Business Analysis with the Business Analytics. I hope some communities and groups can highlight this because it is kinda messing up the science and the knowledge of the Business Analysis Role. UK BA Training Qualification? Advice for charity working with disadvantaged people

Hi Community, I work with Beam (beam.org), a charity that helps disadvantaged people to fund high-quality training and supports them into work. I am working with a client, who was a Business Analyst but had to go on a 4 year long career break to care for his children (single dad). He is looking to get back into work and we are exploring the best training/qualifications for him to brush up on his skills/upskill. Working offshore as BA

I am looking for a remote job for a US company. There are no such job offers but I try to apply for job offers from US companies. Some of hese have an option for telecommuting. However despite my 6 years of experience in Business Analysis and some unique skills (usability, interface modeling, solving complex problems) I get either 'No' responses or silence. Is this a problem with my skills or the way I look for job? Please advice. I know that traditionally BA used to work together in the same office with development team and close to customer. However sometimes development team is offshore and sometimes customer is also. Part of the people work from home so it shouldn't mater if they are in US, Poland or on the Moon.

Hi I am Harish and i pursued BA knowledge through my PGDip. from NZ and currently working as a QA-Consultant in a startup in India. My query is that even after pursuing my PG, there were no appropriate opportunities to me for a BA position both in NZ and India since i wasn't having the experience as they seek. only if there's an opportunity, recruiters or anyone knows, what a candidate can do. And that's why i am planning to take up the course of ECBA provided by IIBA. Now my query is that, i wanna know whether there will be any job opportunities post the certification as concerned with India? and How do i pave a way to that, in order to get a job?. It'd be of a great help if anyone can leave a piece of advise here.. Thanks in Advance.!

Student looking for opinions on postgrad options

I have applied for a few M.S. Business Analytics programs. My top choices are Southern Methodist University (to which I've already been accepted), Imperial College London, and University College London. Aside from reviewing the programs (all excellent), I'm also considering what it would mean going to a U.K. school over a U.S. school. Though it is consistently ranked in the top 10 schools globally and has renowned STEM programs, many people here in the United States have never heard of Imperial College. It's basically the MIT of England and attending would be similar to attending a U.S. Ivy, but it has practically no brand recognition here. So, how important is brand over quality? Do you think going with one of my London options would hurt my prospects should I end up coming back to work in the U.S.?
I know in the end the decision boils down to what I want with my education, but I'd greatly appreciate the opinions.

Old Career Online

I don't have a large footprint online. Everyone shows up in those public records sites (do employers use those??). When one does a search for me it seems that only my old career shows up. I'm a former developer and participated in public forums and a few of those pop up. But nothing BA related comes up. However most things require a login so they won't come up. Maybe at a basic level, what are recruiters looking for online? Or are they doing the inverse in that they are looking to ensure a person isn't doing crazy things online? Is it possible to just have intelligent things posted on LinkedIn (which I do participate in forums)?

BA interview 'exercise'

I've just battled through a first interview for a BA role I'm really interested in (UK-based). I've been invited to a second interview (with the hiring manager again, and possibly an existing permanent BA there). All I've been told is that it will be more of a discussion than an interview as such, and that I'll be given something to read through and think about, and then we'll have a conversation about it. Apparently there is nothing I can prepare. I can't worm any more information out of them - it sounds a little like a case interview, but more informal. Does anyone have any idea what kind of exercise this might be, and if there is in fact anything I can do to prepare? Thanks in advance.
