Re: IIBA certifications - CCBA & CBAP need experience in business analysis

Hi Ravisha,

Good to hear of your interest in certification. The IIBA certifications are not entry-level, and require 3750 hours of BA experience for the CCBA and 7500 hours for the CBAP. You should count on 2-3 years at least to qualify for the CCBA. An alternative to help you land an initial job is a skill-based certification that a BA training company provides (full disclosure: I am a principal of Watermark Learning, and we offer two types of BA certificates). Employers view obtaining a certificate as a sign of initiative and dedication and can provide you an edge when applying for a BA job. Hope this helps!
