Am i right to assume that QA is an alternative term for software testing or is there a difference?
The last place I worked has both testing people and QA people.
The testers were concerned with the testing activities, and the good ones looked at the requirements up front to make surethey were verifyable.
The QA people were concerned that the project team had complied with business (bank) policies and that all project documentation was in order.
QA isn't always testing.
