KRA's and KPI's for a BA in ecommerce, mobile commerce and finance domains in Australia
Hi folks, I have just moved to Sydney. Have worked for 3 years as an IT BA in India. Would vey much appreciate inputs on what are the day to day activities of a BA and their KPI's and outputs expected of them. It would provide much needed clarity on the working styles here. Thanks in anticipation!

Hi Raj,

I work in Sydney. There is no answer to your question. It depends on the company and the project you are working on. Same as it is everywhere else I expect. Good luck with the new job and welcome to Australia.

Kimbo

Sure thing Kimbo, Thanks for the welcome. I am interested in knowing any particular Job description. Yours for instance if you work as a BA. Are roles demarcated between BA, Systems analyst and QA's or would one have to do it all. Cheers

Lots of different roles for BAs. Business BA, technical BA (same as systems analyst). QA and testing are often done by specialist test analysts but quite often BAs will do some. Also seeing ads for process analysts. In larger companies often people with the title BA don't have BA skills and are subject matter experts. Basically as a BA you'll get asked to do all kinds of different things.

Agile skills are becoming more in demand. Sydney is big in financial services, so if you have skills there you'll be laughing.

Can't tell you my job description as I'm looking for a new contract at the moment. I work as a business BA mostly.

Thanks Kimbo for providing the starting points for my understanding. I have seen a lot of ads for superannuation BA's in Sydney, would you know what are the roles for - incorporating regulatory issues, reporting or something different? Do I have to know the laws regulating Super or would knowledge of pension domain suffice to hope for these jobs. Thanks again!
