Re: Software Quality Assurance

Hi John,

While there are different aspects of Software Quality Assurance, in general it refers to the practice and activities needed to ensure new software features or modified software features behaver and work the way they were intended.

In order to perform QA (quality assurance) or Testing one needs to know the requirements for the system aka what problem did the custom needed solved, what are the key scenarios and use cases, what is the acceptance criteria.

In terms of QA software, there are a variety of tools out there which serve different purpose such as:

  • creating and managing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • managing and tracking software defects (bugs)
  • create and managing automated tests
  • etc.

Re: Software Quality Assurance

This task is not an easy one! It will be difficult for a beginner!
It's a whole set of activities.
Software quality assurance is achieved by creating certain processes:
Standards for software development
Instructions with sequential actions
Experience from previous projects
Previous bugs
Improved approaches in development and testing
To conclude
Remember that quality assurance of a program, does not include improving testing, but improving all the processes of developing and releasing the program.
If the program meets the needs of the users and the expectations of the developers, then you can say that the program has successfully passed the quality assessment.
