The International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB), established in Germany, has developed the “Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE)”. More than 6,000 practitioners worldwide have received the Foundation level certification.  This certification is based on the requirements engineering chapter of the IEEE Soft­ware Engineering Body of Knowledge The CPRE, unlike many other certifications, is open to a very wide audience because there are no pre-requisites for taking the certi­fication exam. The CPRE body of knowledge (“Syllabus”) includes nine sections:
