Innovations Announces Extended Management Capabilities for using Business Rules on an Enterprise Level with Visual Rules 4.4

Chicago / Immenstaad (Germany) - Innovations Software Technology today announces the release of the Visual Rules Enterprise Platform 4.4, the premier Business Rules Management (BRM) Platform. The highlight of this release is the extension of the management components with Visual Rules Execution Server.

Business Rules Management for Agile Enterprises
With Version 4.4 all components of the Visual Rules Enterprise Platform are available for using business rules on an enterprise level. Business and IT experts use Visual Rules for modeling, testing, simulating, deploying, monitoring and analyzing your business rules, to manage and administrate them within a rule repository. Visual Rules supports team-based collaboration on rules and delivery of rules as web services across platforms. The graphical approach enables your organization´s analysts to generate rules themselves.

Companies such as REWE have decided to go with Visual Rules in order to dynamically adapt their applications to changing business requirements.

What's New in Visual Rules 4.4?

Execution Server

With Version 4.4 the Visual Rules Enterprise Platform has been extended with another server-side rule management component, the Execution Server. Now, delivering business rules as web services (WSDL / SOAP) is very easy via the Execution Server. Rule services immediately become available for use within SOA or can be facilitated from any .NET application. Additionally, the Execution Server allows you to use multiple versions of the same rule at the same time – for instance, to cover different time periods and multiple users.

Team Server

Version 4.4 of the Team Server provides additional features for revisioning resources, as well as an audit log. You are now able to trace the version history of the complete rule project in detail.

The visual comparison within the Visual Rules Modeler enables you to clearly identify differences between any two project states and resolve them.

Modeler

Starting with Version 4.4 it is possible to implement additive and multiplicative scorecards using decision tables. Decision tables have been functionally extended: it is now possible to either execute all matching conditions, or execute only the first one that is matched.

Moreover, Visual Rules 4.4 offers a multitude of new features which make using the tool even easier. For example, while creating decision tables, the conditions that lead to a selected result (the condition path) are now highlighted.
