For those of you that are interested just wanted to give you a quick summary of the Mortgage Banking industry. Industry Description: The Mortgage Banking industry refers to all the companies and government organizations which make it possible for individuals and companies to borrow money in order to finance the purchase of residential properties (1-4 units) or commercial properties. There are various branches/areas within the Mortgage Banking industry including: Origination Processing Underwriting Funding Fulfillment Servicing Secondary Capital Markets Outlook for the Business Analyst: While the mortgage industry is in a downturn, as is the entire housing market, the outlook for business analysts with strong mortgage banking knowledge is very good. The mortgage business is a highly regulated and complex business therefore the industry relies heavily on business applications in order to run its business. In addition, the mortgage industry is a very dynamic field which requires constant changes to existing systems stemming form: new and regulations at federal/state/local level, new loan products, changing market conditions, industry consolidation (mergers and acquisitions), etc. There are many opportunities business analysts and systems analysts to begin and establish careers within the mortgage banking industry working on a variety of systems including but not limited to: Loan Origination Systems, Loan Processing Systems, Loan Services Systems, Secondary Capital Markets Software, Automated Underwriting Engines, Pricing Engines, Mortgage Guidelines Rules Engines, Compliance Tracking Reporting Systems, Credit Scoring Systems, Property Valuation Systems, etc. Potential Employers: There are many potential employers within the mortgage banking space such as: Mortgage Originators Mortgage Brokers Mortgage Insurance Providers Mortgage Technology Companies Capital Securitization Companies Government Sponsored Enterprises (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) Government Departments (HUD, FHA, VA) Mortgage Bankers Association: The main and foremost professional organization in this space is the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). LOOKUP features in 010 editor?

Hi All, I've been using 010 editor to conduct analysis on sheets too large for excel to handle efficiently, but I have come to see that it [seemingly] does not have basic features such as a LOOKUP [other than a 'find' feature, where by you can search the text by a single string]. I now need 010 editor to find multiple strings, in a 5mil+ data set, but I fail to see the option where I can search for more than one string at a time. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Efficiency is key!! Q

Hi All,, I don't know , Is it right place to ask this question or not..but I have 8 years of experience in Industrial Automation mostly in PLC Programming, Commissioning and Project coordination, Project Engineer (mostly in Manufacturing field.. like Machine mfgs, OEMs etc..) I want to change my career as Business Analyst .. Can any one tell me is it possible ..? what are the requirements for that..? I am learning SAS, R form one of the institute .. Hello All, i have been a developer for the last 4 years and have been recently promoted to the role of a BA in the Banking and Financial sector. As a entry level BA wanted to know a few things Banking and financial sector involve a lot of things. how do i build up my proficiency in, say the banking domain. do i have to go through any material on these domains. also, since i will be involved in projects of differents nationalities, there will be a lot of differences between the regulations of each country. how do i handle this. if i want to atleast have a knowledge on basics of Banking Finanacial Sectors, what do u guys suggest that i start out with ?
