Product mapping for a migration project

Hi everyone,
I am writing after a long time and am back again to the place where I have been learing a lot from.

I am involved in a project where we are migrating some products from one system to another system and I am specifically looking after the new codes for the products that will be migrated to the new system. I also have to make sure that all the new codes are replicated with the rules of an existing product of the current system.
It seems to be a bit messy and confusing at times since I am dealing with more that 185 codes and each code may have more that 15 rules to be analysed and mapped.

I am currently using a spreadsheet to make a note of the rules and I simultaneously enter the the required values of the rules as well.   I find cross checking the process to be quite complicated and tedious. I am sure there are much easier ways that can be used to help in product mapping and any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Kris

Re: Product mapping for a migration project

Hello Kris,

What you are doing sounds interesting but it's a bit hard to follow waht you are describing.  Perhaps if you post a sample of the spreadsheet that you are working on someone could lend you some good advice.  I'm not sure I understand the entire task.

You can attach documents directly to your forum posts.
