I think the answer would depend on the audience.  Unless the 3 hour course is for a very specific topic, such as requirements elicitation, the training would be more of a workshop.

If I were a Jr. Business Analyst or just getting started:

• What is a business analyst and what's up with all the titles: business analyst, systems analysts, requirements engineer, etc.?
• Example of "a day in the life of a business analyst" showing me some different options,
• Competencies needed of a business analyst,
• Overview (awareness level) of some of they methods, tools, and techniques used by business analysts,
• A roadmap of how I can become a Sr. Analyst (maybe personalized if possible),
• List of additional resources that I can rely upon as I'm starting my career.

If I were a Sr. Business Analyst:

• What's HOT (current trends) in Business Analysis
• What are some of the emerging methods and techniques
• Survey of some of the tools available for BAs including emerging technologies (ex: simulation, etc.)
• Detailed list of competencies and skills that a senior analyst is expected to have
• Branches/options of what can come next for me in my career (contract/consulting work vs. leading analysts vs. product management vs. UI/UX Design)
• List of additional resources that I can rely upon to get me to the next level

My next qustion is can anyone share examples of requirement specifications for user access to system. 

I want to show different approaches and get the audiences discussing strengths and weaknesses of different approaches and thought this might be a good generic topic hat most specs have to address.
