New Name For Jack-Of-All-Trades = Swiss-Army-Knife
Modified By NitWitNick on 8/20/2016 11:06:58 AM)

Recently I got a couple contract needs sent to me ... and that "Jack-Of-All-Trades" is not really a popular name anymore because people think "Master-Of-None".

Then I used to get stuff for "DevOps" ...  The need for cross-functional profiles like "Full-Stack" People who has knowledge in each layer of a project ... the modern name for "Jack-Of-All-Trades".

Now I am starting to get These Contract Ads ...
"We have multiple positions open ranging from Junior to Senior-level Business Analysts who can wear multiple-hats and have a Swiss-Army-Knife-Like skillset ... Wow !! a new name for "Jack-Of-All-Trades".

What they want should Not be a "Business Analyst" or even "Business Systems Analyst" ... because it involves much more than that ... you might have to work on a project throughout the entire life-cycle ... Analysis, Coding, Testing, Change Management, Training, etc. ... which is usually what I do as a contractor on different project life-cycle phases.

Update Your Resumes ...

"Forbes - Jul 10, 2012"

"The Secret Power Of The Generalist -- And How They'll Rule The Future"

"Despite the corporate world’s insistence on specialization, the workers most likely to come out on top are generalists — but not just because of their innate ability to adapt to new workplaces, job descriptions or cultural shifts.

Instead, according to writer Carter Phipps, author of 2012’s Evolutionaries generalists will thrive in a culture where it’s becoming increasingly valuable to know “a little bit about a lot.” Meaning that where you fall on the spectrum of specialist to generalist could be one of the most important aspects of your personality - and your survival in an ever-changing workplace."

Sure, good one. I only wish they don't use all attachments of a swiss-army-knife at once, coz it hurts.
