Management Analyst Job in Berkeley, CA

This is a two-year, contract position with the possibility of extension.

UHS is seeking a Management Analyst to harness system wide client and service data in support of informed planning and decision making by senior UHS leadership.
Responsibilities:
Working with health services senior leadership, managers, and representative client stakeholders, the Management Analyst analyzes and enhances UHS data collection systems to ensure compliance with quality standards, data integration needs and decision support goals; participates in identifying state of the industry health metrics that complement decision making for UHS operations and unit-level enterprises; delivers robust, integrated trend analyses of priority issues, as well as produces ad hoc results for emerging issues of interest. Data management systems include enterprise practice management, electronic medical records, telephone systems, and client survey databases comprising both quantitative and qualitative service data. Key Responsibilities include:
• Identifying data that informs UHS strategies in population-based work, service constructs, service quality, et al. • Creating “data dashboards” for unit-level reporting and organizational overviews incorporating statistics from medical, counseling and ancillary services, client feedback, and insurance data incorporating input from UHS managers. • Providing timely and accurate data to support UHS communication and planning activities. • Analyzing service utilization trends for decision support to the health insurance plan. • Contextualizing UHS metrics with regard to comparable national data (e.g., national universities and National College Health Assessment benchmarks, as well as internal benchmarks). • Consulting on customer data collection and reporting as needed. • Identifying and developing the procedures and processes that improve the integrity consistency, and accuracy of medical, counseling, and other service data within UHS. • Leading the design of integrated data retrieval, analysis and reporting for decision support by UHS senior leadership. • Compiling statistics, preparing trend analyses, and creating predictive modeling in support of functional needs. • Establishing data framework to support integrated analysis of performance on campus initiatives to support UHS service planning, monitoring and evaluation, and for UHS campus partnerships. • Leading and directing a wide variety of projects and follows through with all levels of staff and individuals inside and outside the organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. • 2-3 years’ experience working with data dictionaries, data standards, statistical sampling and trend analysis. • Training in data collection and analysis techniques. • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills. • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to synthesize information from multiple sources on interrelated issues, and design and prepare a variety of graphs, tables and other visuals to facilitate explanation. • Demonstrated project management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing. • Able to collaborate with peers across the organization in a productive and team-building manner. • Effective written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to articulate ideas, thoughts, and information in a logical manner and sequence to summarize complex issues clearly. • Skilled with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. • Excellent attention to detail. • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. • Prior training in data collection and analysis with health and/or social services techniques (preferred). • Master’s Degree in related area (preferred). • Advanced project management skills (preferred). • Knowledge of campus processes, protocols and procedures (preferred).
Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a two-year, contract position with the possibility of extension.
